Marketing

I think our club is in urgent need of members. Its not that nitro racing is not a popular sport or it is not appealing, reason is people do not know about it in Tulsa area. If people do not know about our track they wouldn't come.
So I was thinking how to tell people about the track and get them interested in this hobby. It simple as that, more people = more support = more races = more money = new developments for the tracks.

I brought a flyer to our last club meeting (it is still open to add/remove info from it) that we can possibly post in local area h-schools, colleges and universities, gyms, hobby shops. Or leave copies for people to take home with them.

Here's a screen shot of that flyer I started:

Another thing that we can do is to somehow get one of the local news channels to cover parts or our spring fever races. I'm sure that would attract a lot of people.

Please give me your feed back and ideas.

Regardz,

That looks great. Are you in a position that you could head up a venture such as this? As officers we may have some suggestions however our primary need is for someone to carry it through. Please give me a call if you are interested. I also know Krazy448 and I have talked about him maybe having some time to help with the marketing efforts. Maybe as a team you guys can pull it off. Again, let me know.

Many members may not be aware that Monty created a flyer to display at Hobby Town last year. It may be useful in the marketing efforts.

I will be helping a great deal in the marketing area but your help will be instrumental in making it more effective. I am brand new on this site - my name is Jeff Toney and I own "Fun in Oklahoma" a large web site about all kinds of events all over Oklahoma. Check it out at http://www.funinoklahoma.com. Before anyone starts screaming "spammer" visit the site and go to the Radio Control Section. If any of you consider I am spamming after viewing my site then I will remove my registration here and never bother you again. Consider that what you see today is what was posted within about an hour of talking to some of your group.

What I mean by you helping out is for you to help keep me informed about your group. E-mail pictures - they attract a lot of attention and that is what you need to attract others to the fun of R/C car racing. I am an old R/C car racer myself (too old in fact) and boy do I wish we would have had the net back in the day.

If I can ever make it to one of your events I will and I always take a lot of pictures. I do not sell pictures, I post them for you to download FREE. I also have a racer list on the site, send a picture, name, city of residence, etc. and get on the list. I post them in the City/Town Section also which provides even more exposure.

Watch for more and more info to be posted.

Thanks - Jeff Toney
